Abstract

Newborns (BBL) are babies born during the first hour of the baby's birth until the age of 4 weeks. The purpose of umbilical cord care is to care for and clean the umbilical cord, keep the umbilical cord clean and dry, and protect against infection care. The correct one will have a positive impact, namely the umbilical cord will come off faster and without complications. The method of writing in the preparation of scientific papers using a case study approach is descriptive. The subjects of the case study were two patients, umbilical cord care in infants at the WinarniMidwife's practice. The case study instrument consisted of an observation sheet guide. The results of the case study showed that the results of the application of umbilical cord care in patients 1 and 2 experienced changes which were attached to the observation sheet. The recommendation is that the application of open umbilical cord care using 70% alcohol can be applied in the implementation of nursing properly in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
