PENGARUH KONSELING DENGAN ALAT BANTU PENGAMBILAN KEPUTUSAN (ABPK) KEPADA IBU NIFAS TERHADAP KEPESERTAAN KELUARGA BERENCANA (KB) DI PUSKESMAS KOBAKMA WILAYAH KABUPATEN MAMBERAMO TENGAH

Abstract

Background: Of the active family planning acceptors at the Kobakma Community Health Center, 157 PUS out of 1704 PUS (0.09%) are actively practicing family planning.  Seeing this number is certainly very small. Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of counseling with Decision Making Tools (ABPK) on family planning participation among postpartum mothers at the Kobakma Community Health Center, Central Mamberamo Regency.

Method: Quasi experimental research with a post test only control design. The number of samples in the intervention group was 15 and the number of samples in the control group was 15. In the intervention group, counseling was given using ABPK, and in the control group, no counseling was given using ABPK (non ABPK).

Results: most of the respondents in this study were 20-35 years old, 22 (73.3%), most were not in school, 16 (53.3%), most were multiparous, 19 (63.3%). The results after counseling with ABPK to 15 respondents, most of them used 3-month injectable contraceptives, 11 (73.33%), and most of the non-ABPK group did not use contraceptives, 12 (80%). The results of statistical tests using the Fisher exact test showed that the p value was 0.001 (<0.05) so that there was an influence between counseling and ABPK on family planning participation at the Kobakma Community Health Center.  Conclusion: there is an influence of counseling with ABPK on family planning participation at the Kobakma Community Health Center. Therefore, it is recommended that all parties improve services, especially in providing counseling with ABPK.
