Abstract

Early marriage is a marriage that takes place under the age of 20. Mothers who are pregnant at a younger age, their reproduction has not reached the level of maturity that should be. The child marriage rate in North Maluku is still quite high. This number is above the national average which is at 10.82 percent. As for districts/cities, Halsel has the highest child marriage rate in North Maluku at 20.80%. Every pregnant woman should get good care for her pregnancy, by checking her pregnancy, but in reality there are still many pregnant women who do not understand more about pregnancy checks (ANC). The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between early marriage and pregnancy check-up compliance in Talaga Community Health Center, West Halmahera Regency. The research design used in this study is a correlation study. In this study using total sampling technique. The research tool used was a research format or observation sheet. The statistical test used in this research is the Chi-Square Test with SPSS. After being analyzed using the chi-square statistical test, the value of Exact Sig. (2-sided) = 0.067 shows insignificant results greater than 0.05 p>0.05), it is concluded that there is no significant relationship between early marriage and pregnancy check-up compliance.
