ANALISIS SMARTPHONE ADDICTION DAN NOMOPHOBIA PADA REMAJA SMA NEGERI 8 KOTA KENDARI

Abstract

Today technology and communication have developed. One proof of the development of communication technology is the creation of smartphones. The use of smartphones has two sides besides having a positive impact, smartphones also have a negative impact. Excessive smartphone use  can lead to smartphone addiction and nomophobia which has an impact on psychological and mental health. The impact can be in the form of loneliness, anxiety, stress, depression, life statistics, and disruption of environmental relations. This study aims to analyze smartphone addiction and nomophobia in teenagers of SMA Negeri 8 Kota Kendari. This study is a quantitative research with a cross-sectional research design. This research was located at SMA Negeri 8 Kota Kendari with a sample of 255 respondents. The variables in the study were divided into independent variables is smartphone addiction. The dependent variable is nomophobia. Smartphone addiction, teenagers of SMA Negeri 8 Kota Kendari were at a  moderate smartphone addiction  degree, which was 160 respondents (62.7%). The most teenagers of SMA Negeri 8 Kota Kendari were in the moderate degree of nomophobia, which was 135 respondents (52.9%). There is a significant association between smartphone addiciton and nomophobia in teenagers.
